Huawei and ZONG have jointly established a state of the art GSM laboratory at National University of Science and Technology (NUST) that will provide telecom training to the students and create a bridge between industry and academia.

Huawei has invested USD 1.3 million in terms of hardware that will provide a hands on experience  for the research and development (R&D) and Value Added Services (VAS).

With the help of this equipment, students will be able to have a GSM company like experience before they actually go out into the market. The equipment includes MSC, BSC, BTS, HLR and media gateway.

ZONGs technical expertise will make training possible on the installed equipment.

Prior to this, Huawei has already invested USD 5.2 million at University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Lahore where every year, telecom students from various institutions register themselves to get a hands-on training on latest telecom equipment.
