For data analysis and interpretation, software packages are required. Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) is a computer program used for statistical analysis. SPSS is among the most widely used programs for statistical analysis in social sciences. It is used by market researchers, health researchers, survey companies, government, education researchers, marketing organizations and others. In addition to statistical analysis, data management (case selection, file reshaping, creating derived data) and data documentation (a metadata dictionary is stored with the data) are features of the base software.
The workshop has been designed such to cover the basic statistics included in the base software. These include: Descriptive statistics, Bivariate statistics, Prediction for numerical outcomes, Prediction for identifying groups. Participants of the workshop will be empowered with essential knowledge and hands on training on SPSS version 17.0 that will primarily focus on data analysis, presentation and interpretation through hands on training on ‘SPSS’ software.
