“Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.”
He had pancreatic cancer. Even so, the curtain fell in a shocking and unexpected manner on his life, in an event that touched many across the globe. Less than two months ago, Steve Jobs had resigned from the post of CEO of Apple, Inc.
Starting with hand-made computers launched in a garage, Apple has experienced it all. The story that follows is even more incredible than the beginning. After 8 years of its founding, three computers in the Apple series, Apple Lisa and Macintosh had been launched. After 9 years, Jobs had been dismissed from the company he was a co-founder of.
The guy sure had a thing for starting off anew. What the world saw next was the founding of NeXT Computers by Jobs and his venture into the animation industry with Pixar, whose collaboration with Disney provided animation hits like Toy Story, The Incredibles, and A Bug’s Life… But Apple had a thing for its co-founder, too. In 1996, Steve Jobs was back at Apple as it bought NeXT Computers.
Then comes the “i” era, with the release of iMac in 1998, and a number of soft- and hardware launchings following; iMovie, iPod, iTunes, iPhone, iPad, and other products that Apple can be rightly proud of. iPhone 4S was unveiled on October 4, in an event managed by the new CEO of Apple, and was the last product launched before Jobs’ death. The day iPhone 4S will be released is unofficially going to be celebrated as Steve Jobs Day. He has more than 300 patents to his name to date!
The visionary genius we are talking about brought a sense of class into technology and reformed not only the field of personal computers, but bagged the same for animation industry as well… And as for the job vacancy the title features – that was filled two months ago, when Apple named Tim Cooks as its new CEO… but rarely is a complete replacement possible for such a creative human.
