This is first seminar in the series of seminars that are being planned in connection with the British Council – DelPHE Project won by the Department of Mechanical Engineering; titled ”Capacity building for enhancing R&D in manufacturing, testing and certification of composite materials”.
The event is open to anyone interested in increasing his knowledge about the R&D opportunities in composites, the challenges in this research area and the brilliant prospects it offers.
Besides the official launch of the project the event will include following technical presentations
- Presentation by myself on introduction to multifunctional composites material, their applications and prospects in context of Pakistan.
- Presentation by an invited speaker from Industry (Director Composites Research Lab (NESCOM) Brig Dr. Zaffar M. Khan) on R&D opportunities in composites.
- Presentation by an invited speaker from academia (Dean SCME – Professor Bilal Khan (to be confirmed)) on R&D opportunities in composites in relation with the ongoing and future projects being taken up by the universities.
- Presentation by an invited speaker on Survey Methodology and Data Analysis of survey results, this is in context of the survey of composites industry which will be carried out between October and May under this project.
Event details and timings are given in the event brochure.
We believe that this seminar will be an excellent opportunity to get the students engaged into research on composites materials which is a high priority area for our national development. There will be ample networking breaks so that researchers and students can interact in a free and conducive environment.
Although attending the event is free, it is mandatory to register before hand so that we have an idea of numbers attending this event. Please register for this event by emailing name, affiliation, qualification, telephone number and topics of interest to CEMEcomposites-at-gmail-dot-com by 26th September 2010.
