Pakistan; The Land of Pure. One wonders where have all ‘The Pure’ gone?
Think of any impurity and you’ll find it here, In the land of pure. Ironic. Isn’t it?
We call ourselves Muslims but it can be stated without any doubt that we have forgotten the true definition of a Muslim. We don’t practice Islam, we merely like to own it for our own benefits. Islam is NOT about only offering prayer five times a day. It is much more than that. It is THE WAY of LIFE.
The tragedy of this nation in a line would be; We are content with what we’ve become.
Absurd and senseless celebrations on Independence Day! When our country is facing the hazardous problem of flood. Thousands have been forced to leave their homes. Instead of helping them out by whatsoever means at our disposal we spent, God knows how much, on these stupid celebrations for the Independence day. What message are we trying to give? That we don’t care anymore???
Yes we are independent and I am thankful to Allah. BUT do we HAVE to celebrate it when our brothers and sisters are in such a miserable state? When they are forced to live in tents? Do we REALLY have to celebrate? Does it suit us? As a Nation? As Muslims?
And then maybe this was not enough to fully portray what we’ve become. So the incident at Sialkot. After which I am ashamed to call myself a citizen of Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
Two teenagers, brothers by blood to each other and brothers by religion to us, were brutally murdered by a mob in Sialkot while police chose to be a silent viewer of this shameful event. Mob passed the verdict. Both brothers were charged guilty of being robbers. They were beaten to death and their dead bodies humiliated by the mob. By Pakistanis. By Muslims.
Afterwards it was found that both brothers were innocent(I wonder how the righteous mob felt after they found out). In fact one of them was Haafiz-e-Quran. One of them had appeared in 9th class board exam. Whether he passed or not, It is crystal-clear that we have failed. A a Nation. As a system. We are the true definition of failure.
I used to blame the different circumstances, the conditions we’ve been put through for our actions. I used to believe we are not murderes,at least not by choice.
Sadly, I’m forced to ask this question, to myself and to all ‘Proud’ Pakistanis.
Is it Becauses of the circumstances……
Is it the REAL Us??
