Building Brand Pakistan- Rise Pakistan Competition

By -

Who says science students lack creativity? A recent show of such creativity was shown in the Rise Pakistan video competition organized by DAWN news at IBA Karachi.

The participants were required to submit a One minute video depicting the positive aspects of our beloved Pakistan.

Teams from numerous universities of Pakistan participated. The only team from NUST comprised of three Students from SCEE;

Abdullah Bin Haseeb
Ramla Qureshi
Saaqib Malik.

All three are students of Civil Engineering, 4th semester. The video was named “Pakistan Zindabad”.

And in their own words why they made this video:

Love is a small word for the feelings we have for our Pakistan. We present to you a small gesture of positivity and goodwill amidst extreme negativity that is being portrayed by our beloved “media”. This is a small initiative to clear all prejudices and create a positive image of Pakistan not only in the eyes of the world, but also in the eyes of those Pakistanis who have lost faith and have become cynical. Recovery is a slow process, but the first step is the determination to recover and repair the damage. We have taken the first step. Now… it’s your turn. From Karachi to Khyber, WE are ONE Nation! PAKISTAN ZINDABAD!!!

The final judgment was announced on Saturday, 19.06.2010, at IBA Karachi. Imran Khan was the chief guest for this event.

Despite the fact that the video was made during the FINAL EXAMS and that meager resources were at their disposal….The NUST team was amongst the four winning teams of the competition, all the four winning videos will be aired on DAWN news channel.

The remarks of the team are ‘We all are thankful to Allah and especially to those friends who helped us in the making of this video.’

This event and its result have shown that NUST surpasses other universities not only in academics but in such creative aspects as well.

CHEERZ for the 3 participants… U make NUSTIANZ proud!   😀
